Work Experience
I work directly with Obvious' COO, who functions as the CDO at slice, a fintech unicorn startup and our client partner for 2022. My role is to maximise the CDO's efficiency with minimal change, help them become better organised, and make more room for top-priority items.
As a communications-focused CoS, clear writing and thought partnership with the CDO are the main tools in my arsenal. My other responsibilities include:
✦ Understanding the business(es) inside-out
✦ Project management
✦ Relationship management
✦ High-level organisation and documentation
Team size: 6
About the project: Pause began as a creative side project for the team at Obvious, but is now a full-fledged product with thousands of users.
As the founding communications team member, I'm charged with:
✦ writing compelling copy for the marketing website and its collaterals
✦ creating visual assets for the website, social media and other collaterals
✦ overseeing the outbound and organic sales processes
✦ art-directing and managing engineering-as-marketing projects
✦ increasing searchability and brand visibility, and
✦ maintaining the visual and linguistic style guides.
In three months, I:
✦ increased the website domain rating from 2 to 38
✦ brought monthly search impressions to over 37k (and counting), and
✦ increased our organic customers from 0 to 42 per month.
All data as of November 2021.
Team size: 3-4
About the project: My role as a content specialist at Obvious involved both strategising and execution. Alongside the Head of Communications, I orchestrated, wrote or edited the following:
- The Obvious communications style guide
- Blog content
- Case studies
- Internal and external newsletters
- Internal engagement (advent newsletter and charity programme)
- The Obvious playbook
I also created visual collaterals for the marketing website, social media and other internal/ external projects as and when needed.
